DOG DUMPED ON CHRISTMAS EVE:
PET HUB TAKES THE CALL
Christmas Eve:
Everyone is usually at home spending time with family and friends.
Most places are closed, but Pet Hub answered the phone.
It's sad, but it is a reality that rescues get this type of call all the time:
"Hi, I need to get rid of my dog, can you come pick him up?"
This is the type of call I received on Christmas eve. The owner lives in an Apartment and hid
the dog from the management for months (the dog is only 6 months old!)
We were able to locate another rescue (Annies Angels) who would be able to pick him up and
care for him. Good thing too! This seasoned rescuer reported back to me that the puppy has
been locked away in the garage apparently, his entire life.
He was scared, cold and starving.
Our Rescuer (Julie) named him Dasher.
Pet Hub was able to make a small donation to Annies Angels.
Shnauzer Reunited With Owner On Christmas Day
Early Christmas Afternoon, I received a phone call from a woman in West Pearland. They
had found a dog with a paw that seemed to be broken. They brought him home and
called us...the only place answering calls on Christmas Day.
We suggested they bring the dog to the emergency animal hospital which is the only
place open after hours and on holidays. We called the clinic and gave them our credit
card info so they would be able to treat this poor pup.
We are happy to say that the owner was found within hours of the woman calling us!
We are a ALL VOLUNTEER NON-PROFIT RESCUE GROUP, we get NO
GRANTS or money from the state. We are working on donations given to us
by the community. We will GLADLY answer the phones when no one else is
available and help when we can on Holidays and normal days but it is because
of your generosity that we can do it!
PLEASE, WE NEED FOSTERS!!! If you are unable to foster a pet, please
consider DONATING MONEY OR SUPPLIES.
